- Measurements should be taken while standing, but with leg relaxed.
- Having someone help you take measurements may help.
- If you have a flexible tape measure, use it. If you do not, you can use a piece of string, ribbon, or a shoelace to wrap your leg and then lay it along a yardstick or ruler to translate the length.
- If your measurements are on the border between two sizes, we recommend you size up to ensure you have space for the gel packs. If you intend not to use the gel packs, you may want to size down.

Measurement 1 – Patellar circumference (see graphic)
With leg relaxed but not bent, measure around your knee, from the center of your patella around the crease where your knee bends.
Pull tape measure or string snug, but not tight.

Standing, but relaxed, place tape measure or string 5” above the center of your patella. Measure around the thigh, ensuring the tape measure stays parallel to the floor. Pull tape measure or string snug, but not tight.
